Makes the headline the excuse the reader already uses, then takes it apart

Why it converts
The page opens on “It’s not what you’ve been telling yourself.” beside a list labelled “WHAT WE TELL OURSELVES”: “My feet hurt because I’m on them all day,” “Twelve hour shifts. What do you expect?”, “I’ve been doing this for twenty years. Of course they hurt.” The pivot is flat and short — “Foot pain isn’t a job, an age, or a phase. It’s a mechanical problem. And mechanical problems have answers.” Then “The pain has a name. And an answer.” pairs each of seven named conditions with the sensation it produces, Plantar Fasciitis carrying “That sharp pain in your heel the moment you get out of bed in the morning,” with an eighth card reading “Not sure what you have?” Only then does the mechanism land, under an eyebrow reading “THE ACTUAL REASON,” and only after that does the offer: a priced orthotics carousel under “Best Selling Orthotics,” with a risk-free trial badged in the trust bar above it.
What to steal
The reader arrives with an explanation already in hand, and that explanation is the thing standing between them and the purchase: somebody who believes the pain is just their job has no reason to buy anything. Quoting the belief back before arguing with it is what earns the right to replace it. The condition list is the other half of the same idea. A bare list of names asks the reader to arrive already diagnosed; pairing every name with the sensation it produces lets somebody who has never been told what they have find themselves on the page anyway, which is why the eighth card is a triage offer rather than a product.
