Prices itself against what the reader already spent on fixes that failed

Why it converts
The headline sets the frame with “Every Shoe Made It Worse”, and the first line under it puts a number on that history before any product appears: “another $700 wasted on the wrong shoes.” Reason ten is the receipt, one line per failed fix, from “Custom orthotics: $220” and “Brooks: $180” down to “Skechers with memory foam: $90”, each followed by whether it worked. The price is the last line of that same list, in the same format: “These: $49.95.” The reader weighs it against money already gone, not against other shoes on sale. The offer box straight underneath repeats the frame: “You’ve paid enough for things that failed you.”
What to steal
List what your buyer has already paid for fixes that did not work, one line each with the price and the result. Put your price as the last line of that list, in the same format. This works when your reader has a history of buying alternatives that failed and remembers what they cost. It fails with a first-time buyer, because a receipt they never paid reads as someone else’s story.
